New 50mm f1.1

Thank you Robert! I actually messed this shot up and shot it at iso 64 @1.1 which underexposed it a lot. I had to compensate in LR.
This is what happens when I'm used to using it primarily to scan film!

Perhaps the novelty of the thing has worn off? 'Huss' seems to have a sharp sample but I can't imagine the QC on it is anything of note given the price and maybe his is the exception and not the rule.

In any event, the CA in the bokeh and 'nervous' quality is an acquired taste.
I'm more interested in the new VM 1,2/50.

I agree. The 7A 1.1/50 is sharp if it is focussed correctly. Not easy to do that with a rangefinder but possible. Love that lens!

I have two - silver and black - and they are the same.

You should definitely get the VM if you prefer that. Post pics you take with it.

I have the CV 50/1.1. No need for the Made in China lens.
I stand corrected! I have a 7Artisans lens too! I forgot about it.

That's probably my fault...
Or just the fact that it is a Sonnar formula lens, basically close to the Zunow 5cm F1.1 v2... at the price the latter was when it was new.

On top of being a Sonnar formula lens it's only real vice I have seen in the field is a bit of mustache-type distortion. However it's not severe so, as long as you take care not to have straight lines running along the edge of the frame you're fine.

Better late than never - I just picked one of these up out of the classifieds, it arrived today. First impressions are favorable. I suspect this will be an EVF lens, but I’ll calibrate it to my M246 and try it with my 1.25 magnifier so long as I’m not at MFD.

I picked up one of these a few years back. As soon as I found out about it I grabbed one since I love sonnars. I have the original 35mm 7Artisans as well and that I use a lot more (I bought it first). I paid just over $100 for each of them. Ridiculous... The 50 has a few things of which I am not fond, like the lack of detents on the aperture and the light falloff. Overall though it works well. I wouldn't use it as an everyday lens though. This was shot with it probably stopped down a bit. Gotta love sonnars! I admit I was a bit snobby about Chinese lenses before I picked up the 35mm but I ain't anymore. I'd love to get some of the LLL lenses but I already have way too many.
