Hole in curtain on MP - fix with liquid tape?

If the hole is small, use ivory black oil paint. Use tiny amount at the end of a fine brush. Leave it for 5-6 days before adding a bit more if needed. Don't paint over the curtain - try to leave a bit of paint inside the hole with the tip of the brush.

I have also used like liquid electrical tape. The curtains becomes heavier and more rigid with it so use it as last resort if the hole is too big. You might have to increase the shutter tension if you add too much thought.

I used liquid tape for this. I even used curtains material as patch as well. But for this one some rare glue is needed. Forgot name of it. Old fashion glue with smell of Soviet shoes repair shop.

You can still find fabric glue in arts and crafts shops. But glue also turns slightly stiff when drying, you need tiny amount for the patch.

The best is Pan's idea. Ivory black oil paint is very good for fixing very small holes. If the hole is big it is better to install a new curtain. You probably still have warranty on this new camera. I wouldn't put anything substantial on the new curtains of a new camera.

I’m not at home, but on my way at essential service work. Once back home I could check this glue name. I got it after reading how to change curtains instructions, written by those who did regular repair.

Best idea is one which is known previously to work.
I know about liquid tape from Google search returns, photo forums.
I went to most regular store and purchased it of the shelf.

Where do I get ivory paint from, same place which sells mammoth’s tears?

In any artists material shop you can buy ivory black oil paint. Use a minute quantity with a thin artists oil paint brush - only to close the gap - and let it dry for a week.

Not sure what is too big. I have attached two photos of the hole. It looks smaller in real life.

That this could be warranty did not cross my mind. If it could be, that would be perfect.

I don't know where you are located but Alan Starkie (UK) charges £35 per curtain. I think it is quite cheap. Does your camera come with any type of warranty or something?

I'm going to need the contact details for this man. My IIIg isn't looking too healthy, and while I've been toying with replacing it myself, £45 is a bloody bargain.

I received the camera directly from Leica Norway in January - bought new by me. Unfortunately I do not know of any independant Leica repair-guys in Norway...so I either have to repair it myself or send ut to Leica. I haven't checked if I can use my travel or home insurance.
