A 2009 Panasonic GF1- white body with the electronic viewfinder. I owned one of these (black body) back in 2009, but I always wanted a white body. I found one on ebay for a decent price.. All I shoot now is m4/3 stuff- a pair of Panasonic GX-9 bodies with almost a dozen different lenses.

That's a beauty, Vince! And with the focal plane shutter, think of all the really cool lens hacks you can do! Is the lens mount the same as the C/M cameras? If so, there's a whole world of Pentacon/Praktisix lenses from Zeiss Jena to explore, via adapters. One of my all-time favorites is the 120/2.8 Biometar that I use on a Pentax 645. As beautiful optically and mechanically as anything from the "other" Zeiss.
Enjoy your new friend!
No it’s a totally different mount than the 500 series, but there are plenty of other lenses to choose from. Supposedly the Kiev/Salyut/Zenith mount is close, but I don’t think it’s exactly the same. Either way, I think with the 80 and 250, in addition to the 135 that’s coming, I’ll have it covered for a while.
It’s interesting to look at the layout of the camera and if you hold it the way you’re ‘supposed’ to hold it, it all makes sense: Cradle the camera in your left hand, index finger on shutter release button. Right hand on lens with thumb and middle finger focusing lens, index finger on preset aperture lever. And you’ll notice that there’s an indented section on the right side of the body just ahead of and below the advance knob — that’s for your other three fingers on your left hand. That layout (with the exception of the preset aperture lever on the lens) remained on the 500c and c/m. Quite ingenious and sensible, at least I think it is.

Unfashionable it may be but the Macro Elmarit is a terrific lens both in macro use and as a slightly long standard lens.

It is a buy-to-sell purchase, I can't see me using it in the streets. It seems to be enjoying good reputation amongst wildlife photographers. I got it for £18 so I thought I will sell it, put a bit extra and get something more usable - I.e a Rokkor- PF 58f/1.4 that I have been eyeing for some time now

Thanks, I'm looking forward to using it. On the GFX it is basically an ever so slightly shorter standard lens. Has some vignetting in the corners but adobe's flat field correction handles it.

I've used it on a Sony Nex 6 or 7. Our son uses it to great effect on a Fuji 'something' with the extension tube and sometimes a Leitz x 2 extender.

Always wanted to try the 60 2.8 elmarit
just never had an R body
look forward to seeing her in use
There are some that use the 60mm on a digital M with liveview.
Actually though, most R bodies are crazy inexpensive for what they are. SLs in great shape are around $100 to $200. With a 50mm their viewfinders are slightly higher magnification than the M3 and dual eye shooting works for me which it hasn't on other SLR (besides SL2 and R4). SL2s go for a little more and a great camera. Both have extremely bright viewfinders but be a little careful here as some have issues with their prism desilvering.
I also have an R4, it gets a bad rap but it is a very nice camera. Of the R bodies it has the highest magnification at 0.9x (a little less than the SL/SL2) and I really like the way it handles the different shooting and metering modes. I believe the body is a bit smaller than the later ones. These are under $200 as well. If you find one with a bad delay to firing the shutter that makes them even cheaper. 1 tiny drop of oil in the right place (air piston) fixes it.

Thank You Shawn for your 'R' insights... good to know
as for Live view...not my cup of Tea,
still into the simple focusing thru RF window & patch , works great on Miss M10
still got my 'eyes', though maybe not my sanity, giggles

Right, was just pointing out that you could use the 60mm with your M10 and be able to focus it. That is one of the under appreciated tricks with the digital Ms... they can use a lot more than just LTM or M mount lenses. So things like scanning negatives with the 60mm is very doable.
