This tour across so many parts of USA brings back many memories. When I was nearly done with my PhD, a Professor and I were chatting in the corridor of the Statistics Department, and he asked me what I would do first after getting a PhD. My response was "exploring the Southwest of the USA".

BW conversion in LR6. The colour was poor shot into the light.

A wonderful image, this.

I took the same in 1979 and again in 1983. Haven't been back there since, likely won't now, too old and flying there and back from Australia is too expensive. Also I'm now Asiacentric, so my time is spent mostly in Indonesia. Things change.

My late uncle took the very same image in 1943, with his Rolleiflex. He and my eldest aunt (both now passed away, and greatly missed) were on their honeymoon at the time. The buildings in the distance were somewhat different, but the falls are remarkably unchanged, given the amount of water having gone over it. So most of your 'shot' is much the same as the image he took then. On Kodak Panatomic 120. I have the original negative as well, in my archives at home.

So many visual treasures. Of imagery and memory as well as physical recollections.

Keep it up, please, Lynn. Surely you must know how much pleasure this thread is giving so many of us.

Hwy 20 between Ohio and Elkhart Indiana. Note the buggy.

There are large Amish and Mennonite communities in the Elkhart Indiana area, so you will see many horse drawn buggies there, even today.

Best,
