Does anyone enjoy Elvis anymore?
It doesn't get any better than Elvis singing "If I Can Dream".

I was listening to "Cahoots" last night. Love The Band.
I listened to the Door so much in my college days all I have to do is think of one of their songs and I hear it in my head. No audio required.
Elvis was my idol when I was a kid. His early rock and roll still brings on a smile but I couldn't get into his later stuff.

It seems the early rock world had two separate camps: Elvis or The Beatles.

Back at the dawn of time when the jazz was straight ahead, no BS, kick-ass music. "You can't go home anymore." Because it's not there. But not forgotten and, oh, the sounds. Thanks!

My camps would be the early rockabilly Elvis, not so much the late Las Vegas Elvis and the late experimental Beatles, not so much the early "Yeah, yeah" Beatles. Of course there are outliers. I've been known to sneak away from camp at night and consort with the other side.

I’m DJing in Rome this weekend (rare soul and funk) so have been getting my head in the game - also settled on taking the Besse R3a with the 40mm summicron and the minilux to save space

I am continuously in awe of how Stravinsky could hear this in his mind and put it to paper; how a conductor could manage it; how an orchestra could play it. It's like photography made 1,000 times more challenging.
