A short Post-Christmas giveaway thread

Sheeesh, it took my struff nearly a ruddy month to be claimed, lol.

Cary, is that the first version of the Nikkor 43-86mm, and is it as bad as it's rep?

I've got a "TAKUMAR (BAYONET) 1:2.5 135mm" with "554128 ASAHI OPTICAL CO." around the barrel just beyond the chrome ring. It has a pattern of squares for the focusing grip. Blue (ft) and Green (m) focus distances almost at the same level on the dull chrome distance ring. White location dot, Blue 4 and Orange 8 on the aperture ring, which is clicked in half steps. Built in lens hood (probably plastic, but it's not easy to tell) and it has "Made in Taiwan" on it.

It looks practically new and unused.

I'll post a couple of pics tomorrow.

This time I'm going to try and stick to UK only.

Edit:

As promised, here's a couple of pics, (which I'd hoped would've turned out better, but we can't have everything.):

Don't be worried about the apparently "slanted" piece of plastic with " 135 mm" on it in the first photo, that's just an optical illusion - I've just double-checked.

Does nobody want the Takumar 135mm f2.5 (Taiwan)? Surely someone could use it even if only as an occasionally used spare, or maybe when you don;t want to risk your super-duper multicoated Japanese Takumar 135mm f2.5.

Thanks for the reply and info, Pan. Yes, I'd read on the Pentax forum in the lens section that the Japanese ones are better, but still, from 70 reviews this lens gets 8.20 as the main headline number, so it must at least be good in most aspects. Either the construction must be good or my copy is almost unused.

Still no-one interested in the almost new Taiwan Takumar 135mm f2.5 lens? One week to go before I shove it up a charity shop.

I've decided to cut short the extra week of listing for the takumar 135mm lens. It'll be going to a charity shop tomorrow.

I have decided to list my Black Ricoh 500GX, which either has a light meter that needs looking at or a sticky viewfinder needle. Everything else works as it should. It had new light seals a couple of years ago. I have had films through it and they came out well enough, though may be a tiny bit under-exposed although that could've just been me or due to using silver-oxide sr44's. I'll list it for four weeks. Once this has gone I'll be back down to 13 cameras.

This Black Ricoh 500GX works as it should but needs a tidgy bit of work either on the meter or the viewfinder needle. If you can judge the exposure you need by eye, or have a separate light meter then it's good to go.

Are you sure you are on the right forum? 😉
Well, I very often see photos on here which are beyond what I can dream of doing, and many of the answers to my many (and usually evolving) questions can be over my head, and most here seem to collect Rollei TLR's, and Leicas and hasslblads and so on with scores of examples each, and many here seem to be capable of mending them without even hitting them with a hammer, so most of the time I'm not sure I am, lol.

I think he was saying, in jest, "only" 13 cameras? That is, compared to many others here, myself included.

But yes, there are a lot of really knowledgeable people here who seem most competent as repairers of their own equipment.

I was, hence the wink emoticon, but from his comment about hammers I think seany65 is on the same wavelength.

KoNickon, I did understand it was only in jest, and my "I'm not sure I am" was also in jest, although with the merest hint of the slightest possibility that there could be a microscopic chance that in theory maybe I am, considering most cameras on here seem to cost thousands with most owners having hundreds of them and hundreds of lenses and more photo talent than you could shake a stick at, and have the ability to make their own tools to work on cameras. On the other hand this place is more suitable for me than the USSRphotoforums of which I am a member, as I only have a Fed 3a(5) with an Industar 26m, most people there have hundreds of cameras and lenses and some could tell you what factory the official replacement screw for the bottom plate of the camera you're looking at came from, why it was needed and what the person who fitted it had for breakfast that day.

Mr. Bump strikes again to give UK members a chanc eon claiming the Ricoh 500GX, which could do with some attention to either the light meter or the meter needle.
