I'm also eyeing one in chrome, for much less. Guess the S2/3 RF will have to wait until Christmas.Of. course there's been no subliminal influence or enabling here on RFF......
Nicely done H....now the wait begins....

The only camera I ever regret selling is a Nikon F, black 64 with plain prism. So smooth, so worn, and didn't have that annoying ping that some SLR's have. Didn't cost much to buy it; didn't get much when I sold it either during 'the Great Camera Selll Off of 2018.' Nice camera, wish I kept it, and non-ai lenses are really good with B&W film.Just pulled the trigger on a standard prism Nikon F from Japan. Should arrive by my birthday later this month.

Nice. They're such lovely machines! This is mine ... an early, plain prism F (1964ish vintage):

It was a terrible mess when I got it, my old camera tech friend did a fantastic job of bringing it back to life.

It has a reputation for being an absolutely superb lens, Sigma came out with two at about the same time that were no holds barred optical quality. (The other was their 105/1.4 which is so big that it has a tripod foot. I just found one of those, too.) The SL2 will be mostly for my M glass, but I figured having a couple of really first class lenses that are fully depreciated would be fun. I won’t lose much if anything if I decide they are too much. That's a monster.

Have fun with it, supposed to be a very good lens. Basically the SLR version with an adapter for L mount built in.A new body cap for my Sigma BF:

I have the 35mm f1.2 DG DN which is fantastic as well. Crazy sharp wide open and renders beautifully.

I hope it meets your expectations and performs brilliantly.
Me? I'm uninterested in any 40mm lens that is the size of a bazooka.

But wait until you see how cute the donkey is that I use to drag the cart used to haul the lens!I hope it meets your expectations and performs brilliantly.
