Amazing @lynnb - I guess they were born around the time of the turn of the 19th/20th century?
Yes my maternal grandparents were born in the 1890s, possibly the 1880s. They were both in their 80s when I took this in 1972. They had interesting stories about country life before motor vehicles.

Looking like I do in Japan in summer Mike, finding yourself physiologically unsuited to the general combination of heat and humidity, and desperately trying to stay cool. But looking much less hot, bothered and unhappy about it all than me! Good work.

Thank you, Marty, much appreciated. Summer in Japan is a challenge and it's getting harder every year. Preparation and a positive attitude help me get through the season. BTW, the goofy hat I'm wearing is to protect my ears from getting sunburned, or worse getting skin cancer!
