Conclusions:
(A) they don’t have confidence in their own s/n database
(B) they think the camera is legit
did you ask them what remains on the warranty, if anything?

Given all the lore around Leica it's surprising to me that their record keeping would be so jank. I've registered a ton of various products over the years and this is the first time I encounter a serial # that the manufacturer somehow "forgot". Weird!
