What have you just BOUGHT?

I think you need a 24 and a 20
LOL! No ... I had a 20 once upon the day with my Nikon kit, but hardly ever used it. And same goes for 24. 28mm is the widest lens useful to me on an SLR. I even eschew the 35mm because that works on an RF much better for me.

I have that ultra-wide focal length range covered, and then some, with my Leica RF gear ... 10, 15, 21, and 28 mm. No need to buy those lenses for an SLR. And I have native 21, 45, 65 for the 907x, and adapt V system 50, 85, 120 Macro, 150, and 180, now (with Nikkors) 180, 300, and 600 mm too.

I think I have the lens world well covered... 😀

While it's huge it appears to be really easy to use, way less fiddly than my Rolleiflex.

I've owned and/or used every Mamiya TLR from the original Mamiyaflex forward to what you have. They are terrific workhorses and were favored by wedding an portrait shooters for a reason.

I personally favor the C2X family bodies only because they are mechanically simpler and thus a bit lighter/smaller. But really, you cannot go wrong with these things, especially with the later black barreled and blue dot lenses.

Dear Board,

A couple of years ago I bought a Zeiss-Ikon Contaflex IV from a Shopgoodwill auction. I was very impressed with the build quality of the chunky little nugget, especially when I discovered that the ancient selenium light meter was working and accurate. I bought a Contaflex Super and meter less Contaflex to round out the collection.

Impressed by those I took a chance on a Contessa LK. It also works and the meter reads the same as my Contaflex meters, so they are all either relatively good or identically wrong. The film I've put through the Contaflex IV turned out fine for me, so I think I have 3 working cameras.

Encouraged by my luck I found a Contessa LKE for on Ebay in immaculate condition, but the seller was unsure of the working condition. I made an offer and got a beautiful camera with the lens hood and a Zeiss-Ikon Skylight filter with case in perfection condition that arrived today. It also came with a small Quantaray bounce flash powered by 2 AA batteries. The camera meter matches my LK meter so I'm good there! The aperture and shutter speed adjust correctly and seem to be accurate, and the rangefinder is legible and reads distance properly when focused. Unfortunately, the flash had batteries that were probably last used to take photos 15 year ago. But once I pried them out and soaked the battery cover in vinegar it fired right up with new AA's.

I must admit that I am very impressed by the build quality and the continuing functionality of my 60-year-old cameras. They are a testament to the days when things were truly built to last.

Just paid £40 for my biggest amateur repair challenge yet, the 90/3.8 has a non working shutter apparently but clean glass and all the bits, which have some value on their own and I can use them, online the Non C is allegedly the 'worse' of the versions but hey I don't really care for that, if I can get it working, I'm up!

First of a £12 RF challenge. I set myself this arbitrary limit just because I already had the lens, from using with a Sony A7II, and spotted the Fed 4 going cheap on eBay. It was listed as 'untested' so was a bit of a punt. Works perfectly well though, and even still has an accurate meter! It did manage to chew up1000020779.jpg a fragile Foma 400 film (hence the scratches), but I will be more delicate when rewinding next time. Only cons for me were the fiddly speed control, not easy to set in freezing conditions, and the tiny viewfinder, which demands a lot of squinting ( also not very friendly in freezing winds). Otherwise, very happy with the results.1000020933.jpg

Good question, looks like glue but who knows…
Just a contact adhesive, sorry I thought this one was well known in the camera community. I tend to use it when making shutter curtains but any one will do. I just didn’t gauge how much bigger the tube would be than my normal one.
