What have you just BOUGHT?

Got the bug for a Left Hand Grip for the RB67 as sort of need one for what I've got planned for it but not feeling the sketchy ones on Fleabay, so taking the long road to make sure I get what I need at a decent price, so this is part 1 of the buy.

I’d be interested to know how you like that pistol grip and whether it helps to handhold the camera.

Second £12 RF challenge wasn't so lucky. TBF, I knocked the seller down from £10 to £8, on Vinted, so I don't mind the hit. Very sad though, as this Voigtlander Vitomatic IIa is such a beautiful gem of a camera. Really big, practical, 1:1 viewfinder, with luminant brightframe and even an integrated meter readout! Such a shame that the focus helicoid was jammed. A previous owner had obviously had a go at repairing it and crossed the threads. By the time I got them separated, a lot of brass had been stripped. On top of this, the shutter was malfunctioning. I fooled the mechanism to prime, with a dead film, but the shutter remains open after each shot. I'm sure, given enough time, someone could fix it. However, I've just ordered another £10 one off eBay. Hopefully have better luck with that.

I've quickly tried it on the bare body and it feels kinda weird as it's not the normal way to hold the RB but I can see how it might help with a WLF and holding it against your body for a bit of stability, being left handed it felt OK to trigger the shutter but will update you and to be honest I only bought it as it has the Magnetic Base Plate which is always missing on the Multi Angle Left Handed Grips which is my aim if I can find a cheap one without the plate.

Just a contact adhesive, sorry I thought this one was well known in the camera community. I tend to use it when making shutter curtains but any one will do. I just didn’t gauge how much bigger the tube would be than my normal one.
OK, thanks.
I could not read the lettering . . .
except "G17"

I know this stuff, use it for leather or similar things.
But shutter curtains did not come into my mind.

I won one of these from ShopGoodwill last year. Was in beautiful condition, but the finder was desilvered and couldn’t be repaired. Pity.

Wow, thats a bargain!
This shop prices things seemingly at random…some prices are at full current market, some are giveaways…like a perfect Nikon SP body for $200. Last month got a goggled Summaron for $150 and an M3 for $300, both needed work but still! (Summaron glass cleaned beautifully by DAG.)

I finally got my Anscomark M and boy is it nice — actually nicer than the one I already had. This one came with the 50/1.9 lens I was looking for and the exceptionally-nice camera body was a huge bonus. It didn’t come with its strap lugs (like many of them) but thanks to the advice from @Leon C I found a rather inexpensive Ricohmatic 35 that uses the same strap lugs (and the Ricohmatic 35 is a pretty interesting camera itself). I should have that camera next week.

Dear Board,

Unless I hit the lottery, this will be my last acquisition for quite a while, and maybe forever.

I bought a well-used Pentax K3II a year or so ago. I've been really impressed with the camera as a landscape and general photography camera, but my heart lies with birds and wildlife. I had nothing longer that 300mm and I pined for more. I decided that a BIGMA at $ 600.00 plus and the Pentax 150-450 at $ 2G's were way out of my wheelhouse pricewise. This old dog showed up on eBay with a Best Offer, so I made an offer and went to bed. I awoke to get a shipping notice, and it arrived today.

Initial testing is positive and I look forward to using it more to really try it out but that may need to wait a while with a major winter storm inbound. I'll get to it when I can, but I do like it even though it's not a highly regarded lens.

Regards,

Tim Murphy

Decided to buy the Pentax 17. Should be delivered tomorrow.

Haven't bought a new 35mm camera in a long time and I can't locate my Agat18k and I need to try to get back to making photos. Too cold right now to get the 4x5 out.

The Nikkor 300mm f/4.5 I ordered arrived yesterday. I found it needed a little cleaning of the rear element but is otherwise in excellent condition. So after some cleaning, I fitted it up to the Hasselblad 907x to see how it performed on 33x44 mm sensors:

Nikkor 300mm f/4.5 on Hasselblad 907x/CFVII 50c

Example photo:

Still Life Test - Nikkor 300mm f/4.5 @ f/8 - Santa Clara 2026
Hasselblad 907x/CFVII 50c +
Nikkor 300mm f/4.5
ISO 400 @ f/8 @ 1/5 sec

So you can see: some vignetting at the corners, otherwise pretty good.

enjoy! G
