What have you just BOUGHT?

Nothing photo related. After I gave away my 1970s Gibson J-50 guitar, I again had a hankering to play. I bought a low priced but nice sounding Eastman model that I've been using to prove to myself that I truly am too old and arthritic to play simple chords. That's okay, I'll keep trying. Feels like 1966 again when I first learned to play on a Sears Roebuck Silvertone*.

I had forgotten how uncomfortable those steel strings are before you build up callouses. Ouch.

*I see the brand "Silvertone" has been rebooted and a series of new guitars are being marketed. Just no $40 models anymore.

It's been a while that I'm thinking about a 75mm to add to my M mount equipment.

Finally I found a decent price for an Ultron 75 f1.9 MC in pristine condition

Now I have the perfect mini kit for my trips:
MP, summicron 35 and ultron 75

(Until I find a Summarit 75 2.4 🫣)

Popst Color Reflex 55mm f1.4...
No, it's not a typo, but the lens I found with a Yashica TL Electro today. At first glance, in my haste, I imagined the R was partially discolored... but it's nothing like Popst.

I used to hate taking photos with my iPhone, but ever since grips and side handles became widely available, I've grown to enjoy it... but not just with the "naked" iPhone lens. I've housed my iPhone in a cage, which has mounting options for external lenses. I've purchased a 60mm and 85mm (35mm equivalent AOV), and they are fun to use on occasion. They won't replace my Leica or my Z6 III gear, but they're great for casual shooting, especially since I always have my iPhone me anyway.

My 4 year old grandson wanted a colorful photo of some of his toys, so here's an example taken with my iPhone and the 60mm lens. Forget the background (my grandson wanted to see an AI generated background), but the image of the toy figures themselves turned out surprisingly well.

Looking at the lettering of the Porst 55/1.4 online, it is thicker than yours. I am wondering if it was replaced at some point with a custom engraved one.

Last this week/this last week I bought a Nikon SB-20 flash, a manual and a Nikon SC-15 cable for it, I also bought a Nikon TC-201 2x converter. The flash and converter arrived last week and the manual and cable arrived this week. Now I've been able to ditch the 3 old and slow-starting Nissin 360TW flashes and their 3 slave cells and short Nissin-only sync cords, so now I have a little less photo-clutter.

Panasonic Leica 100-400mm f4-6.3 zoom lens. I intend to use it for field sports and running; for football and similar sports in the last few years, I've been using the Canon 30D + 70-200 f4 IS L for stills, and the G9 + Pana 35-100mm f2.8 for stills and video. This will give me 200-800mm equivalent reach, which will upgrade my capabilities like nothing else.

Since this will be only for outdoor sports during the day, the f4-6.3 aperture doesn't worry me at all. For its reach, it is so light! With the G9 it weighs less than the Pana S1 or Leica SL2S with 24-105. It has Dual IS 2, meaning that it has stabilization which pairs with compatible Panasonic IBIS to create a super steady frame.

Last year, I bought the Pana 100-300 but found that copy ludicrously soft at the long end, so I returned it. Below you can see the size difference between these lenses:

Here is the lens on a Panasonic GX9, courtesty of Mirrorlessons. It shows how small this lens really is.

It is a P_._._._x. Nothing fancy or expensive but good fun and pretty looking little thing.

Needs some cleaning and testing and soon posted on the camera and coffee thread.
P….X. Ok…… which one?👍
