Hello,
Where do you find the Agfa Rodinal these days? If not, is "Photographer's Formulary Paraminophenol (Rodinal) Developer for Black & White Film" the same?
Cheers,
-Mervyn

They should have the new A&O stuff by now that is supposed to be the newest Agfa formulation.

There is "rodinal," which is a 100 year old formula for a developer with good but not super-high acutance. This is easily made at home, and the one from PF is based on that. "Rodinal," capital R, is a commercial developer that is almost certainly modified from the original formula, much as how D76 from Kodak is not the same as D76 first created X number of years ago.
Anyway - the one from Freestyle is the Agfa commercial recipe. The one from PF is the original one, with some tweaks.

Or you can make it using relatively easy to access chemicals. Paracetamol (main ingredient of Tylenol), Sodium Hydroxide (household lye), and sodium sulphite are all you need. The resulting 'paRodinal' works the same as the 'real' Rodinal does.
The formula and my modified method of preparation is posted here:

You can use the times and dilutions given for Rodinal for this developer.
