OK, so how many cameras do you *carry*

Usually it's one M2 and a 50 everyday, either an Elmar or a Summicron depending on how I feel. I usually carry so much other stuff around with me that I'd need a bag even if I didn't have the camera.
 
When I'm walking around, I always have a single camera, single lens. Only very rarely do I carry a second lens.

I find that with a single camera, single lens, I get into a sort of rythm. Swapping a lens is already distracting, swapping cameras would completely ruin that flow..
 
I just acquired a Contax T3 that will find a place beside the Bronica in the bag...or it may not, depending on certain developments...

2 cameras at most, one is most likely.

I guess the original question was a bit too general. I think what was on my mind, following the acquisition of a second M, was "I've never seen anyone strolling around town with two cameras slung around their necks / shoulders / wrists."

Now, when I went to the leaning tower of Pisa, I parked around the corner, took my rucksack containing the M7, 30D and Contax 645 (and a Manfrotto tripod attached to the outside), a bag with the Sinar F1 and the Berlebach tripod for the LF over my shoulder. - I just wanted to try everything out 🙂

Luckily, it was a short walk.

Then, of course, a policeman came and shooed me off (after asking if I had a license or something) because he thought I was a pro! Come on - what pro uses a beach towel as a large format dark cloth?

Now in the backpack Om1 28mm+50mm, and 35SP. I vary lenses that I take for OM - usually 2 lenses from set (28mm, 35mm, 50mm and 135mm), and rangefinders - either kiev/J8/J9 or oly 35SP.
 
I keep my complete Bessa R3A kit and my complete DSLR kit in my car at all times. (I've got an old car and the cameras are worth more than it is.)

I try not to carry a camera bag with me as I walk around. On a recent trip to the mountains, I had a 35mm on the camera with a 50 in one coat pocket and a 75 in the other.
Unfortunately, my opportunities to wear a coat are few and far between here in Arizona, because this felt like a perfect arrangement.
 
In the car, I will carry my Canon 5D + four lenses in a backpack, plus the Bessa R2/3s + lenses in a smaller case. I hardly ever foray out from the car with more than one camera/lens combo.

If I have a specific assignment using the rangefinders, I might have both Bessas, one with a 35 or 50, the other with a 90.

Sometimes, I go on long walks and, in that case, always carry just one camera.
