I use RF cameras mainly to have a small camera and lens that don't draw attention to themselves. A big hood, vented or not, is okay for scenics but not people photography. That's why I use B+W's tiny rubber collapsible hood built into the front filter.
EDIT: The regular Nikon hood covers about one-quarter or one-fifth of the viewfinder area (I just checked). The Nikon S2 and later later cameras have 1:1 viewfinders. So, if you're a right-eyed shooter or a left-eyed shooter doing verticles, this isn't a big deal, you can open your other eye to see the whole frame. So you don't really need vented.
