Hello, everebody! My 1st post on this forum )))
(sorry for my English, i'm from Russia)
Friends, i received Fed 35 lens, and have FED NKVD... Also Zorki 4k... and want take few photos... but i do not know would this lens work correct with NKVD (almost 30 years difference in age) or with 4k. Anybody know camera, which work correct with this lens?
PS i'm novice, and all my expirience with photography was limited digital cameras.

beforehand thanked, Oleg.

Welcome to the forum.

Olegs are always welcome :D

If it's this lens http://cgi.ebay.com/Fed-28-4-5-Leica-SM_W0QQitemZ7582447251QQcmdZViewItem
then you can be a happy guy. It seems they are quite expensive.

IMO it is compatible with both your cameras, but perhaps it isn't rangefinder coupled and you'll have to guess focus (which isn't very difficult with a 28mm lens).

You will also need an external viewfinder...

LOL )
yes, similar... ) i trader on ebay, and sometimes sell interesting cameras/lenses, like this... and finally want to take photos ) Promise share photos if you want, when i take it )))
in plans - use Jupiter 36V with Kiev 88 )))
Oleg.

I don't know what a FED 35 lens is, but I do know the NKVD mount has a different thread and won't accept the usual 39mm lenses - mine won't anyway! Hope that helps...

i tried it, and lens installed well...

Lucky boy then! Maybe there was variation in the mounts used, or maybe yours has been changed at some point. I do seem to recall reading that the early FEDs had a different thread pitch on the mount and it's certainly true that my NKVD will not accept lenses off other FSUs. Oddly, the lens on my NKVD *will* thread on to other cameras though!

Lens have standart Leica\Zorki\Fed M39 mount and can fit on ANY camera with M39.;)
From Jay Javier's site:

"Very early FED and FED lenses use a slightly different thread pitch which would make it not compatible with lenses with the "true" LTM thread pitch"
