The R4's begin shipping out today -- April 4th, 2007. The key thing about the R4's is their great VF. I believe the R4's will become THE RF for 21, 25, and 28 lenses. That's all for now, back to shipping.

And for the UK readers of this forum - Robert White have them in stock, and have just taken my order - its in the post now
The guy who took my order said he'd been looking at one last night, and like all the other staff there, was extremely impressed

harrysproshop.com in Canada carries the R4A/M now as well... priced at CAD$749 for those of us here in Canada... Brian's a great guy to deal with as well...

I bet Mr G across the pond is cheaper, even allowing for the possibility of getting stuck with import taxes (I've bought several items from him at really great prices - the strong pound really makes a difference - and his shipping only takes about a week to get here). And for the UK readers of this forum - Robert White have them in stock

I don't think so. The Cameraquest price actually seems high considering it's the same in Vancouver and elsewhere in Canadian dollars!oscroft said:I bet Mr G across the pond is cheaper, even allowing for the possibility of getting stuck with import taxes (I've bought several items from him at really great prices - the strong pound really makes a difference - and his shipping only takes about a week to get here).

I received my R4 this morning from Stephen and from the first fifteen minutes with the camera it is nothing short of incredible. The viewfinder for the 21 is well defined and very easy to see. Even with glasses I don't have a problem with the viewfinder. The film advance is smoother than my old R2 and it feels very comfortable in hand. I have the original 21/CV and you do see it in the viewfinder but not to the point of being distracting.
I just called in "sick"
and I'm loaded with film. Finally have some good weather here in Central Texas so I'm out the door!!!
Thanks again Stephen for your all of your help. The only thing that I fear now is having to get a 25:bang: :bang:
Cheers,
Scott

Sherm, how do the 35mm framelines look? Similar to what framelines on other cameras you use?

To me the 35 looks like the 28 frame on either my old M7 or the new Ikon that I have.

Look at the "waiting for mail" thread, at the price I promise you haven't spent your money better!

i'm getting weak...i want one again!

that is pretty wide, I was thinking it would be the other way around, the 35mm framelines would be like the 50 or 75mm lines in a Leica M.
