What have you just BOUGHT?

Not exactly bought... a friend gave me a Contax IIA + zeiss jena sonnar 50 f2 belonged to his passed away father.
His dad bought it in '54 in Bogotá (Colombia) while he was working there.
My friend is not at all into photography and he told me he would like to give the camera to someone who would use it.

Well, here I am!

The kit comes with instructions (in spanish), a book about the camera and the business card of the shop where it was bought (I already looked for it, it doesn't exist no more).

That's an East German, coated Carl Zeiss Jena lens, which could be original to the camera if it's a very early example. When the manuals were printed, West German Zeiss-Opton lenses weren't available yet so the photos show this version on the camera.

The instructions can be found on the internet. Google it. I paid ~US$3 for mine for the Contax II. Repairs are done well by Oleg at OK Vintage: OKVintageCamera. Have fun.

Mint Konica Auto S3 and a close-up attachment. Nice little camera. I have running first roll of film through it. If I like it I will try to locate a X-20 flash for it too.
Hi Matus, just got a C35fd myself. Been looking into the auto-up attachment. Can you show how the finder works? Do you really see only half the field of view?
Cheers, Rob

I just bought a Leica M / Nikon F adapter to try and use my negative 'scanner' on the M10M with my Nikon 55mm micro lens.

Your shot is inspiring me to get my 'scanner' out and set it up with my hi res camera to reshoot all the old slides I did a number of years ago.

Went to a Camera swap meet in Orlando today, and bought a Minolta IV light meter. Been something a little faster to use than the Sekonic l398 I have, but don;t use much.

Also the same seller had a working Kiev 4a from 1978 with a helios 103 that was priced really good so I bought it. First thoughts on the Kiev vs Contax II from 1936. Both feel very similar. The Contax is a bit smoother to use with regards to focusing wheel and film advance knob. But the Kiev doesn't feel that bad at all, I was expecting worse feel in quality from all the forum lore. But the Rangefinder seems aligned. and it still feels solid.

One thing that bugged me on the Contax II was the raised "legs" for removing the film back off. I prefer the flat bottom on the Kiev.
