I am looking for a lens hood for my 105mm f2.5 Nikkor. It is one of the early ones with the two studs on the filter ring for a bayonet style hood. These are pricy and hard to find. I was wondering: since it has the 52mm filter size that Nikon used for most of the SLR lenses if the snap on hood for the 'F' will work and clear the studs when it is reversed for storage?
Thanks,
Paul

I have a LTM nikkor -c 10.5cm f2.5 sn 919511... no lugs....and i don't worry about the authentic hood on any of my glass. I just use my rubber hoya hood on the 105. Fits lots of my lenses.

The original Nikon clamp on hood was extremely prone to falling off. One of mine is at the bottom of a dutch canal! try to look for a 52 screw in hood instead. I did pick one up in Osaka in March this year for the princely sum of $15. It is a generic hood with no manufacturers brand on it. I suspect that both Hama or Kaiser make some kind of hood that will work and the rubber hoods are fine, except I find that tye collapse when you put the camera in the bag and exposes the front element.
