I just noticed on this lens the f-number scale is
reversed from Leica ltm lenses and is the same
as Nikon SLRs.
This lens balances while on the Leica II but
not so on my M2.

It is a Nikon/Nikkor lens, I imagine? Nikkors generally focus the opposite way from Leica lenses. Not surprising that the aperture is opposite too!

Might take a while to notice because a rotating front end is disruptive enough that you won't be changing the aperture by feel...

interesting that Canon ltm lenses follow Leica as well.

If it is a 105mm f2.5 it is almost certainly a Nikkor of the era. I cannot recall any other f2.5 105mm made in that mount though there certainly could be some. But Nikon made these lenses in both Nikon S rangefinder mount and in LTM mount, though I understand the latter to be less common. Alternatively it could conceivably be a Nikkor knock off by a 3rd party company of the era. Does it look anything like this?

I think sankyo khoki komura also made a 105mm 2.5 lens, in both ltm and Nikon rangefinder mounts.

I had a 105mm Komura but it was an f/2.8 and did not have a rotating front. It was preset as well.I think sankyo khoki komura also made a 105mm 2.5 lens, in both ltm and Nikon rangefinder mounts.

I just bought a LTM 105/2.5 Nikkor since I liked it on my SLRs back in the day. Of course I like the 85/1.4 even better but a Summarex but I'm drawing the line ;-p

The Nikkor 105/2.5 is one of my favorite tele lenses. I have it ltm and in F, both the Sonnar version. Some claim that the other version is better optically than the Sonnar.

EP just means it was sold out of a US military base or for export.
I had a Spiratone 105mm f/2.5 in M42 mount long ago, bought through their usual multi-page ad in Modern Photography. It was pre-set with the two diaphragm rings. Performed well. Don't know who would have made it for them...

Good 'ole Fred Spira.
I bought a Spiratone 400mm pre-set "Girl Watcher" when at photo school in Santa Barbara, California.
Stopped down to f8 it was...pretty bad.
OTOH, I believe it cost 45 dollars... not including a T mount for my Canon FT.

Just to refresh my memory I checked some ads on Google. The Spiratone 400mm lens was the "Sharpshooter". The Tele-Astranar was the " Girl Watcher". I bought a Tele-
Astranar new back in the day.
