I have the 15mm Super Wide Heliar and need to disassemble it for repair. Does anyone know how to get into this lens?

I have removed the 4 cross screws on the LTM back, and the black round screw on disc that holds the rear lens assembly in place. The 4 screws that hold the 2 helical tabs are visible but I don't think that is the way to separate the helical mount from the front lens mechanics.

I've tried to unscrew the name ring but it seems to be solid on the lens.

Any direction on this would be appreciated. Thanks!

If the name ring is glued on, it's glued on good. There appears to be no threads on the side of the name ring, suggesting glue, but it doesn't even flex when trying to lift off.

Nope, nothing on the Heliar 15, on pentax-manuals. I found the instruction manual for the CV 21/4, but no schematic on construction. I would guess they share some similarities. Thanks, for the link.

Still perplexed by this lens.

The name ring on mine was glued on with what looked like four spots of contact cement, and I do think there was maybe a normal slotted lock ring under--it's been a long time since it fell off. I also remember (it's been a while) that the external cup-shape on the back turned off, but I don't remember what I found when I did that. I think it just removed the rear element, and I might remember a lock-ring under that which seemed to determine how deeply the back assembly settled in, to change the spacing of the back elements from the front.

Don't try too hard, though--It must be 6 or 7 years since I had mine apart.

Good memory. 4 spots of adhesive and a slotted lock ring. I guess I had worked the name ring enough, that a twist of a small screwdriver popped the ring off. Thanks, for the advice.

Thanks so much! Needed to give mine a clean today and couldn't find anything but this old thread. A small screwdriver between the gap and a gentle twist made mine pop right off!
(I put microfiber cloth on the front lens element to protect it while I did that)

I re-glued it back into place with a couple dabs of nail polish. Hope it holds! I didn't want to use anything too strong in case I needed to get back in there again in the future.
