It's not snappy on the contrast like the more modern stuff is but you said that lower contrast does not bother you....after all the Jupiter-12 is supposedly the Biogon formula, but granted is one stop slower.
santino said:I've tried that combo, it's not satisfying and the J12 doesn't drive my M6's RF to infity (on russian cams it does, off course) 😀
Captain said:Sorry but I have to strongly disagree with Magnus, to say Zeiss' lenses are lacking in contrast is complete nonsense. They are often accused of overly high contrast like those of the Contax G, while Leicas tones a bit more subtle. Then to also say that all "Leica optics render a completely, totally different look than anything else" is totally baseless as well. Get a CV 90 f3.5 and an Elmarit 90 f2.8. Stop down to 5.6 and Im certain you will not be able to tell the dfference as I have seen that comparison done. Its true that with certain Leica lenses compared to others you can but to say that about the whole range you cannot, nor do I believe you have tried them all together to make such a claim.
Jaap:With the lenses we are discussing here even the least of them is of such a quality that the differences in rendering are so small that the choice is largely a matter of taste.
Magus: I couldn't agree with you more. These optics are enough to challenge one's technique for a lifetime!
