2008 – 2009 14 Day One Camera One Lens Challenge.

I really am stumpped! Thanks a lot, Keith! 😉 With so much gear I really have hard time deciding what to use for this. One day I think it'll be a Welta folder, next day - Kowa/six ( you see I try to push for MF), but than I think it'd be easier to use 35mm film, so I think it'd be Hexar RF with .....what lens? On one hand I'd like a challenge and use one of the lenses I dont use often, but than on the other - I'm just so used to 50mm. WHat to do, what to do? ........

Well it's a minute to midnight here in Oz and I've made my choice ... out of the blue I chose my M2 and 35mm Hexanon ... I start shooting tomorrow in the city while I wait for my Vespa to be serviced!

My biggest problem once I'd decided on the M2 was whether to use my 50mm or 35mm Hexanon ... the 35mm came up trumps for versatility and definitely the best choice for some 'street' tomorrow to kick the two weeks off!

Good luck everyone and I hope to start seeing some brilliant stuff in the gallery in fourteen days from now! 🙂 🙂

Just for the records, after some test shots, I'll use an M6 instead of M4-P with the 35/1.4 SC. 🙂 Fit's the framelines better, too, for those Xmas portraits, hopefully.

Cheers,

Roland.

I have a trip to the mountains next week, and I may need more versatility in lens options, ranging from 19mm-500mm for nature and wildlife photography. Too bad for me.
[unless I take only the Zeiss Sonnar 5cm 1.5?]

Time is running out and I think I wont be able to take this chalenge because I will have to shoot a small happening next thursday and go to an abandoned factory before the end of the month. It would be a waste not to use all my resources...
🙁

Okay it's 00:32 over here.
Jupiter Eight is mounted to my M Six body, and I am about to go out. Not sure if I bring anything, just going to shop. Good luck to you all for next fourteen days!

I hear you man. Christmas is coming and I have family including grandkids. I don't think I can limit myself to one camera and one prime. I expect my church will want me to take photos again like for Thanksgiving. That will prevent limitations.

Oh well. If this is that fun and succesful it will no doubt be repeated.

So, I have chickened out on the R2a and 135 idea; there are going to be too many indoor/family/friends/holiday shots over the next two weeks.
And the Retina is pretty nice but I don't know it well enough yet.
My final answer:
R2a and rigid Industar 50.
Rob
OK, I want to play as well. I am thinking of two fairly different cameras for this; either the Retina IIIC or Bessa R2a and Jupiter-11...
I'll decide before the 17th.

I've decide to wait on the mailman as well. I'll be getting that 35/2 FD mount "Chrome Nose" lens and it's worth waiting for. That the T90 & some BW400CN for the next couple of weeks 😉

Interesting, I may try it too - with a Rolleiflex T. But are thre any more datailed rules to be followed, or itis just a "whatever you manage to shoot within next 4 weeks" contest?

What will be the webpage to submit, what are the conditins for the photos (size, etc)?

Hmm. Would a GR-D II count? One camera, one lens? Or should I go with the Mess Ikonta? Or, given that my 5x4 tank just arrived, should I just go with the Bender 4x5?

Though I'd have to cheat on "assignments" from my wife ... it's Christmas and there are kids and family to be photographed.

I was thinking that people who are being asked to take photos in situations like Xmas gatherings with expectations from family to 'get it right' and probably digital ... or photos for the church as described earlier ... a little rule bending should be allowed . In other words use your own discretion as to what you think is fair.

We don't want to get too damned serious about all this rules and regulations stuff ... we're supposed to be having fun after all! 🙂

As for the question about where to post photos etc ... hopefully Stephen can organise an appropriate gallery for us when the time is appropriate and normal sizing rules etc will apply.
