Some nice photos on the thread so far and I'm looking forward to sometime in June when all our efforts have been uploaded.
My ideas for the contest voting are as follows
Shoot until the end of the month
Process and upload until mid June
Select winner by the end of the month, I would like to see the merits of photographs discussed and one winner selected.
Opinions for and against please
The bad news is my zorki is still on the way from Oleg ... I have faith in the Russian Postal Service and I'm sure I will get in couple of days of shooting.

Yes I was lucky: I used the DOF and calculated the distance of the subject, these guys don't give you time enough to focus properly.

Glad to see all these entries! Meanwhile, I'm struggling to create anything worthwhile before the end of the month. I have the new-to-me '58 Kiev 4 loaded but opportunity and inspiration have been lacking. One more weekend, we'll see.
Ironically, I spent a week in Berlin earlier this month, but I was trying to travel light so that meant no Eastern Bloc gear made the cut.

Just now I notice that gem! A Exakta RTL 1000! I am trying to get one, how is it as SLR?
BTW, can anybody suggest a DDR rangefinder?

^ Werramatic. Not that I've ever seen one in the flesh, or even its simpler cousin Werra.

Very nice, but title says FSU contest: Praktica is from FEG just like Exa and Exakta (Former East Germany)

On page 2 there are several Praktica shots and nobody complained...

Horizon cropped to 16:9 (so its more what I've seen in the VF, and the composition is much better)

Please read the rules in post #6. All cameras from areas under Soviet influence are OK this year.

Equipment. All types of camera from little spy ones to large format no restrictions at all. Also included are the cameras from areas under soviet influence i.e Czechoslovakia and the DDR. So that Flexaret or Practika are as good as a Zorki or Lubitel as far as eligibility.

Just found out some old pics I've taken with my Kristall, I had forgotten there was a deep yellow filter so most of the shots have been underexposed, but few are nice.

Received the test roll of my "new" jenaflex (Praktica BC-1 reebadge)...what to say? The Flektogon 20 mm f2.8 is a fantastic lens!
