2019 roadtrip, Polaroids

The journey goes on even when weather is not...perfect !
We crossed Sweden driving under the rain. Very few pictures taken, this was when we made a stop in a parking lot ...

... a LOT of lovely photos! :)

Just went through the subsequent posts. Some lovely work here!

I've been back from my travels for a week and a half. I made 30 exposures with the Polaroid and a similar number with the iPhone. They're all in LR now, sorted and picks marked... I just have to finish rendering them.

They have a very different presence. An iPhone and a Polaroid work well together for a photo travel kit. Both have their limitations, strengths and weaknesses. Together they give you a lot of options.

iPhone 8 Plus

Really like what I got with both, although I have to admit most of what I photographed with both were friends and family I was visiting. :)

On day 5 we drove from Rostock to Copenhagen 580 km, we decided not to take the ferry but to enjoy the long road drive towards Great Belt Bridge connecting Denmark and Sweden.

It was a long drive therefore a few "pit stops" were necessary !

For any reason unknown to me when traveling I always like to take photos in parking lots or resting areas...

Thanks Godfrey, excellent B&W in your photo!

Totally excellent thread. I love the photos. Nice that you photographed the SX-70 itself as well!

This thread is great! Thanks for posting, Robert, and keep 'em coming, as others have said.

Question: what are you scanning your Polaroids with? I have a Leica Sofort and have not been happy with my efforts to scan the prints. Thanks!

thanks you all for the nice words, the trip will go on...

@ Bingley: I scan with an Epson Perfection V600 Photo.
in the beginning I used the Epson Scan software which I use with satisfaction to scan my 120 negatives but although the image was good I was not satisfied because the white area around the image had some kind of artifacts which forced me to a long work of cloning them out with PS.

Than I discovered the using the import function of PS this didn't happen, never understood why. So I scan now from PS at 2400 dpi which gives me a large file useful if I want to print the image larger.

I clone excessive dust and make small adjustments in PS or preferably in LR trying not to alter the image compared to the original Polaroid, I notice you can recover many almost invisible details by scanning and post processing but I prefer to avoid it.

I hope this helps, how do you like the Soft images?

Wonderful prints by Robert Blu!
I love squarish format, the BIG prints so well composed.
THe different colors and interpretations so magical..
In fact to all who showed prints..
What I don't like the price of using, simply impossible for me!
I still have my SX-70!

This entire thread is wonderful and special as we don't often see threads on Polaroid images.

Thanks, Robert. One more question: Do you place the negatives directly on the glass plate of the scanner? I tried that using Instax photos and was not happy with the results, but maybe I need to work at it more.
