2019 roadtrip, Polaroids

When you are on the road for many days it's essential to have a good companion on your side. I was lucky to have my wife with me , here waiting when I was tanking, and also Raid and his wonderful family have been very good traveler companions.

I'm a little bit late in posting, but the 2019 roadtrip is not yet finished !

When we drove back we spent a few days in Berlin.
This is day 17 of our trip.

This is in Fasanenstrasse not far form the Leica Shop...I was in the same place 10 year ago (wow, time flies!) and took a similar photo with my M7 and Ilford Delta 400 film. If you are curious here it is:

I like both images, Robert. It was the building that was close to our hotel. Remind me what was special about it.

The weather in Berlin was beautiful, but very hot. From the 13 °C of the Norway we had to confront ourselves wit the 34 °C of Berlin.

Therefore it was nice to think of the cold days in Norway, like day 13 between Bergen and Oslo with the snow on the siode of the road!

I'm a photographer but there is a painter inside myself 🙂

i took this on the small island in Gol but the light was low therefore a long exposure time and the blurred look.

All exquisite work once again, Robert! I love coming back to this thread to see what new jewels you've posted.

I'm in the middle of completely changing my image processing workflow now, haven't touched a camera or printed a photo in what seems like forever. Looking at your Polaroid photos keeps me going. 🙂

Going back home we spent a few days in Berlin, wonderful exciting city. Only the temperature difference compared to the one we experienced a couple of days before was quite shocking! From 14°C to 34°C in two days ...

Last time I updated this thread we were in the center of Berlin with many shops around.

In the same area there is the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church which was heavily damaged during WWII and after many discussions and ideas was left as it was, like a lesson for all of us.

I decided to shoot only one photo and keep it, good or not. It seemed me a sign of respect, not sure why. But sometimes what I feel is more important to me than technical quality.

Well done. As for making just one photo, I share and understand your feelings although I have yet to be able to explain that feeling.

Perhaps making dozens of images, such as at a tourist spot, somehow cheapens the experience. Similarly, I don't want to see copies of Van Gogh paintings on a postage stamp.

On the wayback to Italy we found this church on the side of the motorway, In the beginning I was disappointed by this photo. Later I showed it to my drawing teacher and he liked very much because resembles in a certain way a simple charcoal sketch.
