any of you shoot film with 21mm without a finder? I have a .72 and am finding looking left a right a bit equals the 21mm perspective.

On my M6, the end of the VF is closer to 26-27mm. That's a long way to 21mm. I would use a finder or pick up an R4 (which has frame lines for 21,25,28,35 and 50. I would use one until you can visualize what you'll get in the frame without the finder.

I have tired but it didn't work well, lots of cut off bits. I then got a voigtlander finder which was a lot better but also highly inaccurate.

If you don't want to buy an optical finder try fabricating a wire frame "sportsfinder". If most of your shots are scenics it should wrok well used in conjunction with the camera's finder.
