24mm Zeiss

One thing to remember with the ZA E 24 is that it is called a Sonnar for a reason. If you're expecting the signature modern look associated with Zeiss, that look is primarily a Planar or Distagon look, the Sonnar signature is smoother and doesn't have the in your face pop of the Planar.

That said, IMHO the ZA E 24 is a brilliant lens and one of my absolute favourite 35 equivalents. Sharp, lovely colour and beautiful bokeh. And it's neither large nor heavy (albeit it is bigger and heavier than many mirrorless lenses). The main downside is the metal ring on the hood will detach itself, leaving an ugly but fully functional plastic hood (the metal part of the hood is purely cosmetic).

Most of these shots are with my 5N and Zeiss 24. I am a novice photographer who didn't know what aperture and ISO meant a year ago, so keep that in mind. http://www.flickriver.com/photos/jayhawk/sets/72157630578089098/

Great Shots. Hope mine look as nice as yours.

Really happy with my purchase of this lens. Always been hankering for 35mm FF equivalent for my NEX5N. It's expensive but really happy with my purchase.

I was considering X Pro 1 / X-E1 with 35mm 1.4 or the X100. This has better quality and images are quite nice.

I've never been a Zeiss guy, so I have to ask - if I like how my Summicron 35/2 ASPH draws, I assume the Sony/Zeiss 24 might be a disappointment? I think that is what you're saying, that the Planar look would be more to my taste.

I have now bought the CZ 24 and I have to say, although expensive, I consider it worth every penny!

Absolutely outstanding, I'm very happy with it.
