My S2 kit is a 25/50/105 (CV/Nikkor/Nikkor) and I love it. I also have a 35/2.8 (Jup-12) and a 135/3.5 (Black Nikkor) but they get used a lot less (almost never).
Stephen Gandy (cameraquest) is a great guy and a straight shooter. Not sure what his stock is on the lenses, but there are no more made.

Just got a 25/4 about a week and a half ago, and although I haven't had the chance to spend very serious time with it, I like what I see thus far. The bright viewfinder is great, and I don't have any trouble seeing the framelines wearing glasses. The lens is miniscule, and I haven't noticed any vignetting or defects in the few photos I've taken thus far.

GAS attack, and I gave in.
I have wanted one of these CV 25/4 lenses since I first shot with one about five years ago. I finally ordered one today (doing my own Christmas shopping with my wife's blessing--gotta love her!). I also sprang for the $69 Bessa L with the lens from Photo VIllage. This will give me a 2-body (L & R) 3-lens (15, 25, 35/2.5), very portable travel kit. Siince I will be traveling to Russia and Germany (and hopefully London) this year, I should be well-equipped.
Now, If I can just decide whether to go with the more compact CV 75/2.5, or the larger, but likely more sharp, CV 90/3.5 . . .

I have to say, without trying one....the 25mm is sort of lost on me.
It's not really wide enough for zone focusing (at least to my skill/comfort level) and it's not coupled.
I went with the 21mm instead.
The R4A and a coupled 25mm might easily change my mind.

I spent a some serious quality time with the 25mm yesterday, walking around NY, doing some candid stuff... I was nervous about focusing at the time, but I got the results today and there are almost no problems.
The DOF is really deep, so you could probably choose the wrong distance and still get a shot that's crisp. The click stops are helpful, too, because if you need to be quick, it's great to have that physical feedback instead of looking down at the lens to adjust for distance.
I am very pleased with this lens. Very fun to use. And quite a difference from using the 40mm, for sure (the only other lens I have).

Just ordered this lens from Cameraquest, my travel kit is now complete..R3M..50mm f/2 Heliar..75mm f/2.5 Heliar and now the 25mm f/4 SC Scopar..good luck with your quest..Bill ~
