Hi,

I have found a second hand one that has never been subject to professional use, yet the owner is not the original owner and does not know how old the scanner is.

I wonder if there is any way to find out the year of production of an Epson v750. And is there a way to make sure the scanner is well-adjusted and not abused?

Finally, how much is a second hand v750 worth?

The most beneficial thing to do would be to load up the V7xx drivers on a laptop and take that with you to test the scanner before you buy it. Even if you could find the manufacturing information you seek about the scanner's age, it really isn't going to help you determine if this one is working well.

An old one can still work just fine. You will want to disassemble it and clean off the outgassing fog that has accumulated on the the underside of the scanning glass. Not too hard but you must be meticulous about cleaning it well.

Value will vary on how well it works, does it come with the box, holders, film area guide, etc. Use one of the search engines that searches all of Craigslist to get an idea of asking prices. If this one tests well and has all of the accessories, I would start at $100 and negotiate from there.
