I think the dark corner(s) is from the hood on the lens. First roll was sent away for developing, this is Kodak C41 B&W

Really nice. Congrats!

Good sharpness and contrast, but the lens is vignetting particularly on the upper left corner.

Yuh think?
I confirmed from the lens owner that it's the hood/filter combo. The lens doesn't belong to me so I'll keep the filter on and live with it. Easy enough to fix anyway if I took the time.
Thanks for the comments.

Just one more from that roll

Nice photos. I would shoot a few frames with the hood off the lens just to be sure, but I suspect you are correct. that it is the lens hood. Enjoy it.

Regardless the gear talk, those photos are really quite good. That part of city/town is very interesting.

Thanks. I just wish I didn't live in such a small town and had some more people to shoot on the streets. Going to have to try harder next time to get closer.

Two more from the same roll. Sent a bunch of PANF 50 off to Toronto for developing. Need to start doing it myself so I don't have the 1-week turn-around.

Wow!!! Wonderful lens!! (and some very good shots).
You must be very happy about your new "toy"... ;-)
Do you have any photos taken at full aperture?

I'm still waiting for my PANF 50 shots to come back from the lab. These ones were shot on the sunniest of days with 400 speed film. Thanks for your comments.

I agree, very nice performing lens. Is it LTM or M-mount? And you have put the lens to good use as well.

LTM > M adapter.
It belongs to another RFF member who has offered it to me on short-term loan. This is the only roll I have seen so far, the rest are sent out of town to go to the lab. I should develop my own but it's hard in a small house with a young child.
Thanks for the comments.

Well thanks for resurrecting this thread. Here's some more from the same roll. I should go out and take test shots more often with no real purpose other than to test gear

It appears to be at least as sharp as the J-8 lens, at least at the apertures you're shooting at. These Jupiters are impressive glass for the money. I prefer the Industar 50 3.5 and LD 61's, but that's just a personal thing. The Jupiters also have pleasant bokeh wide open. Nice, contrasty shots for C-41 too.
