I would liked to have added "if it can be avoided" to my original "don't follow others" but that would have busted the word budget that Joe allowed us. 😛

Far too many people trying to be other photographers IMO ... HCB comes to mind here. I saw a flickr link in a thread recently to a young shooter with obvious talent and a brilliant eye ... the line 'this could be the next HCB' or something like that nearly made me choke!
