I've seen some guy mentioned that some RF lenses couldnt' use UV or could use only ultra thin UV; or it could lead to some shadowing around the corner.

Does this matter for the 35/f1.2? I'm going to have this with the R2M from CameraQuest😉

No problem using standard filters with mine but I generally do not. Usually the problems are with ultra wides like the 21mm. By the way it's a fantastic lens. I have had mine for about eight months and shot a great deal with it. I also have the V4 summicron 35 and if I could only have one 35mm it would be my nokton 35. It's every bit as sharp if not a little more and the flare control even wide open is second to none. I shot some images during a night shoot last week at 1.2 and had high intensity hallogen (1000 watt) lights in a scene and exposing in a shadow area with HP 5 pushed to 800 at an exposure of 1/30 @ 1.2 and had no noticable flare in the image and only very small halos around the lights. Resolution even wide open is very good and f stop to f stop it's atleast as good as the summicron v4. I also feel the mount is better made than my V4. The summicron that I have is developing focusing helix wear and starting to get really sloppy. The Nokton is more solid feeling and buttery smooth in all aspects.

Great~
Do you use the 35/f1.2 with Leica M or a Bessa? Cause I've heard from a big amount of people that the focusing accuracy of Bessa RxA/RxM is not good enough for this lens.

Thanks!

Very interesting they would make a lens that would'nt work with their own cameras.

I shoot mainly with MP's with a .85x VF/RF and have used it on my .72X bodies with no problem. No experience here with the Bessa but have considered buying an R2a for the auto feature. Thanks for the info.

The RxA/RxM are both more than capable of focusing the lens. Focusing a rangefinder requires some skill. Some people never get it. Also make sure your camera's rangefinder is aligned. Both of these issues can develop into a long thread

I would go for thinner filters on the Nokton 35. No so much for vignetting, but for viewfinder obstruction. This lens is quite long and with the standard hood obscures a good 30% of my R2M's viewfinder. Any addtional filtering will only make the problem worse. I tend to use this lens on my Bessa T and an external finder. Even with on my R2M, i tend to use the external finder.

As an aside, i've never had trouble focusing it with either of my RF's, even wide open.
