35mm 1.2 Nokton ultimate RF lens for the price

Not to hijack the thread, but: I've noticed that my 35/1.2 has a stiffer/more heavily damped focus action (though very smooth) than my other lenses, especially than my other CV lenses. Do others find this as well, or is mine in need of adjustment?

mine is perfect, not too stiff, not too loose :)

I have never owned one but if I had to pick one leica camera and one lens, the lens would be the 35/1.2. Would love to have one of the S mount versions (3 in existence) on an S3.

She is big, but with one lens and one camera I would be happy to live with it.

Stopped down it's about the same as the old one. It's up close and wider open that you see the difference.

Hi Marty,

Never tried the older version either... Thinking of it, I guess you're right... Anyway I bet my sharp 28 3.5 stopped down, must be a bit below that... :D And my XA's 35 might look like a pinhole...:p Only with the 50 on my Hasselblad I could be there... But I don't want to carry that, and sometimes I just can't because of the situation... I wouldn't hate it finding one of those asph. 1.4 35's forgotten in a cab... Especially if it's on a black M2...:)

Cheers,

Juan

is it still fairly new? mine had a slightly "tight" feeling to the focus for the first few months of regular use, then transitioned to being buttery smooth, a real delight to use. it's stayed the same way ever since - about 2 years, now.

ah, how I love this lens. for me it's the ultimate RF lens - the price is just a very happy bonus!
