That new aspherical version with the close range correction, well stopped down, must be a crazy thing! I guess it looks like medium format...
Stopped down it's about the same as the old one. It's up close and wider open that you see the difference.

Not to hijack the thread, but: I've noticed that my 35/1.2 has a stiffer/more heavily damped focus action (though very smooth) than my other lenses, especially than my other CV lenses. Do others find this as well, or is mine in need of adjustment?

mine is perfect, not too stiff, not too loose

I have never owned one but if I had to pick one leica camera and one lens, the lens would be the 35/1.2. Would love to have one of the S mount versions (3 in existence) on an S3.
She is big, but with one lens and one camera I would be happy to live with it.

Hi Marty,
Never tried the older version either... Thinking of it, I guess you're right... Anyway I bet my sharp 28 3.5 stopped down, must be a bit below that...
Cheers,
Juan

is it still fairly new? mine had a slightly "tight" feeling to the focus for the first few months of regular use, then transitioned to being buttery smooth, a real delight to use. it's stayed the same way ever since - about 2 years, now.
ah, how I love this lens. for me it's the ultimate RF lens - the price is just a very happy bonus!
