Can anyone here who has or has used both give a side-by-side comparison of them? I have the 40mm and use it a lot on my R-D1 for low-light, and I also use my Canon 50mm f/1.2. What is the 35 going to give me that the 40 doesn't apart from the 5mm and a tad more speed? Bear in mind that the main camera it will get used on is the R-D1 so it effectively becomes a 53mm f/1.2 with the crop so I'm thinking it might be good for low-light people stuff. Anyone here use it as an all-day street lens? How does it stack up side by side at smaller apertures with its slower brethren?

Thanks in advance, my annual bonus awaits and its imminent arrival has infected me with particularly virulent GAS (I'm hoping the R4 user reviews are going to take a while...) 😱

I don't have the 40 but I can tell you the 35 is a huge lens, I have not shot it a lot yet but I do like it and I for one don't have real issues with it's size.
