ok ive heard people go on and on about the signature of the 35 cron apsh and the 35 lux asph, and....I dont think I get it. Can someone please show me what they mean by the signature of these two lenses? People say the cron is clinical, does that mean the lux isnt? And what do they mean by clinical, lets see some examples please!

No no! I am serious, I have seen alot of people mentioning that word, I don`t even know what does it mean, specially in realation with lens..

Thank you for the very clear explanation, Magus, far more illuminating than my short definition. Vladimer seems to have a strong aversion to regularity... 😉🙂.
Btw, I am slowly edging toward aquiring a 35 Summicron asph. I believe you own one. Would you recommend that lens, or would you advise getting a non-asph one (would save a lot of money) or a Summilux (would cost a lot of money) ?

Thank you Magus. I see what you mean. It would not deter me from buying the lens, as your description of its strong points are exactly what I am looking for. After all, for a clear sun situation I can always fall back on my Tri-Elmar, which is very similar in result to the preaspherical 35 lenses and of course, for that "vintage" look there is always ye olde Summaron. So it seems from your evaluation, that the Summicron ASPH, or better still, but horribly expensive, the Summilux ASPH would be a nice addition and a suitable object of gas.
Thanks again..

Unless you employ recording film in witches brew for 20x16" silver bromides one is only going to see boketh?

Another sample of 35 Summicron-m ASPH. Yes, I have posted this before, my favourite example of what I like about this lens.
