Hello all,

in order to get another 35mm lens to substitute my Jupiter-12 lens under most conditions, I have some questions about the Summicron-M 35/2 and the new CV Nokton 35/1.4 SC (or MC):

1. Contrast: I think the J-12 renders contrasts a bit flat and muddy in most conditions. What about the two candidates?

2. Flare: I got pretty much flare from inside-reflections with the J-12 under bright sunny conditions, see here:

Or what do you think the lighter circles are? - I doubt they are sunlight. But correct me please if I'm wrong.

3. Colours: Same with the J-12 here: It gives low contrast when shooting colour/slide film. At least I got that from it. What about the two other candidates here?

I hope you can help me with this questions and put some light on the unclear parts, as getting a lens (either a used Cron or a new Nokton) will need some time for me as full-time college student to save for.
Thanks for reading and in advance for answers.

I have just tested the Nokton 35mm /1.4 and a ASPH Summicron 35mm /2 and while I was at it had a quick look at the ultron 1.7(which was not quite as sharp and a little flat) .
The Nokton was as sharp overall and slightly better on the edges ,the contrast was ever so slightly less ,though to be honest that is no bad thing particularly if shooting B&W , there seems very little reason not to buy the Nokton and spend the rest of the money on film . Which is exactly what I just did , and that was a decision I took based on lens performance not just price
