it's an underground pedway...great for winter use to get from building to building...it's like a city under the city...mostly closed to the public.
 
First visit to this thread in quite a while Joe.. I really like your people photos. Very natural, as Kostya said. As for that Fed Bldg, it seems monolithic, impersonal, almost claustrophobic. Is that how you see it?

actually, the government buildings themselves have been built over decades and share various forms of architecture ...some quite lovely...a large part of the grounds are called the pool area as there are several kid's pools/reflection pools for great summer family fun. all free to the public...
the pedway is a bit dark and lonely but i quite like it down there...
