4 New Voigtlander Lenses 35/1.7 Ultron, 15/4.5 Heliar, 40/2.8 Heliar, 10.5/.95 Nokton

Ultron 35mm f1.7, probably at f4.0. Adox CHS II 100 iso film, developed in Beutler 1:1:10 for 7 min.
 
I have started a Flickr group "Voigtlander Ultron 35mm f1.7 M-mount" and upload regularly on it. I am very impressed with the lens. Running some slow (and out dated) films through it at the moment.

Considering the one on the left is the *only* lens I use on my M4-P, it's amazing that I miss this thread completely.

Congratulations to Cosina for coming out with the version of this classic.

Bigger, but not too bad. Man, I wish I can give it a try.

it is also a very good lens - I have shot at least 15-20 rolls with it since coming back from japan and it really has impressed me with its performance!
Chinatown here in Vancouver, probably around f2 or 2.8. Agfa APX 100 in Beutler 1:1:10 for 7 min.

yes indeed, you are totally missing something.

this particular lens version was designed for the NEX, not the M. Voigtllander already makes a compact 40mm f/1.4 in M mount.

The close VM adapter is very popular. This lens head offers those owners an extremely compact sharp lens. There is nothing else like it for NEX mount.

If the lens proves as successful as I think it will be, a dedicated M mount version might be a future possibility.

This is awesome news all round.

I know it'll never happen but it would sure be sweet if CV released a run of 35/1.7 Ultrons in Nikon S-mount 🙂

(actually the new ZM 35/1.4 in S-mount would be pretty cool too but that's even less likely!)

Nice selection of new optics! The only one that really interests me is the 15mm (I have the 15mm LSM 1st version).

What would be very very cool is a 10.5mm f/2.8 in Four Thirds (not micro Four Thirds). There are NO 21mm FF primes in FT and with manual focus a mFT adapter would make sense.

The mFT 10.5 f/0.95 is too much lens for still photography - seems to be mostly a cine use lens. An f/ 2.8 would reduce cost and make it much smaller. And it would easily adapt to mFT.

I use a small trick: use a mask on Lightroom along the far edges and decrees the color temp by about 16 (+/- 2) degrees. Works to best the last cyan away from my LTM version when coded as 28/2.8 on my M.

& I will have a look at the new III asap! I still find no info on it at the VM site.

The New 35/1.4zm, the CV35/1.7 rather huge, the new 15/4.5III surely will be (over 500g!! the first was 116g the second 156g!!).

I do agree.
Buying retro lenses is not what "we" like, they get too big and lose the old charm of using a small and discrete lens, ALSO on digital.
The size and associated of the 15/4.5III is somewhat disconcerting. Should I live with the small problems or upgrade?
 
I wish the original 35mm Ultron I bought had focused properly on my M9. For some reason, it really felt 'right' on the M9, and the images had a very nice character that I haven't had with another lens.

If the new Ultron is, indeed, a completely new design, I'm wondering if it will have any of that original Ultron magic.
