50/1.5: With all the talk about the new CV lens

It balances and handles wonderfully on the M5...

The adapter is invisible in use.

All this talk about Nokton 50/1.5 is causing me to rethink selling the pair that I have... pretty sure that I will sell one of my Nokton 50/1.5's as soon as the Nokton 50/1.1 arrives.

so how comfortable is it to use on a M Leica, does the adapter hinder you in anyway?

... on my M6 it's a pleasure to use (no problems at all with the ltm/M adapter).
I have a 0,72 M6 and it intrudes only for a little (very little, at least for me) bit into the lower right corner of the 50 framelines.

Wow, seriously impressive lens.....I have been using the Color Skopar 2.5 and its been a great lens but .....or maybe its the shooter

it is a pleasure to use, very smooth, perfectly balanced and I keep forgetting that there is in fact an adapter in between. =)
no problems at all! just the advantage of being able to put it on ltm cameras and everything.

simonsawsunlight; that first shot is pretty damn amazing, in fact they all are.

thank you very much =) I'm trying to do my best!

50/1.5 delivered me my girlfriend :)
Our first close meeting was in a room without any people except us. I shot 1 roll of her. We both felt very uncomfortable then and so we went to drink whiskey and talk about ourselves (i.e. to get know each other).

So yes I love my nokton 50/1.5 :)

P.S. Ironically, that's why I don't do much photography nowadays :(

I loved the glass, but did not like the size, so I sold mine. But if I decide I can't live w/out a "modern" 50, I may pick up another... In the meantime, here's a contribution:

Why got the 50/1.5 discontinued?

Why got the 50/1.5 discontinued?

Hi,

anyone knows why CV discontinued the 50/1.5? The new 1.1 is something of a speciality (weight, size, price) and will not fit everyone looking for a 50mm. With the 50/1.5, 50/2.5 discontinued and the 50/2 being a special run only, there is now quite a gap in the line up. Any clues?

Is it discontinued? It's still on the website.

I love the Nokton. It performs so well wide open, which is the chief reason to get a fast lens.

Well, it isn't discontinued. It will be available in black only, according to Stephen Gandy.

It vanished from http://www.cosina.co.jp/seihin/voigt/english/lens-top--e.html and http://www.cosina.co.jp/seihin/voigt/v-lens/v-l-m/index.html

It got added on their list of discontinued products: http://www.cosina.co.jp/seihin/voigt/english/dispo.html

Perhaps Tom and/or Stephen can (cannot if a revamp is to be announced in the future and they saw it already under NDA) shed some light here?

This is a lens that I may add to my 50mm lens set. My 50mm lenses are not as sharp as this lens.
