Ok. So for those that have shot the 28 cron and 24 lux. Which is your preference? Obviously the lux is much more expensive but for IQ.
The Summicron really is a wonderful lens than cannot be faulted. A little less contrasty than the Summilux ASPH but matching in signature with very well behaved bokeh.

I don;t mind that bokeh because the child's eyes are so compelling. Only photo geeks look for distracting bokehs. 😉
Am I the only one reading this with the accent of Arnold Schwarzenegger? Anyways, I thought that was already covered in the beginning of this thread. I can't see what's wrong or childish with discussing lenses on a photography site. At an exhibition, no, but here, why not? Don't think anyone has claimed that certain lenses produce good pictures. They do render differently though...It is NOT the lens, it is the head behind the camera that result in a good picture. Come on grew up do not act up like kids in the kindergarten.

Since I started shooting my 50 lux ASPH on my M9-p I am constantly stunned by the results. Even a lousy picture has amazing contrast, color, and rendering. It truly is an amazing combination and dare I say it, there is a magic to this lens.
So, here is the question. What other lenses have this same feeling, quality?
So, without tipping my hand that I like the Contax G 45mm, I'm working on my own alternative solution to the high cost of the perfect Summilux 50mm ASPH lens.
Ah-but how much better would he have been with an M9/Summilux 50 asph?🙄😛For those wanting to seek great pictures to the extreme, check this guy out. He shoots with an iphone and his work will knock the socks of any of our work with Noctilux's Summilux's etc. http://www.flickr.com/photos/pixelmunky/

Not sure why the Planar 50 and Lux 50 asph are sort of compared, both are extremely nice, but different. The Planar renders color more intensely and has more pop. I have photos taken with it that look like one of those 3d cards and that can be quite unreal. 1.4 does make a difference to portraits. I don't think they are similar.
