Just curious...

any of you guys got an extra one that you'd be willing to sell for a reasonable price? :D

Staving Off GAS Attack,
Dave

Well, I was shopping :)

What are you looking for? New, old? I can fill you in on my shopping.

How about a Nokton 50? I place a bid on a new 50 Planar ZM on evilbay thinking I wouldn't get it and I did!!! Calumet had a new one on the clearance sale for $399. I put $500 on it and got it for $462. Want a mint 50 Nokton?

I was hoping for 2nd generation onwards - doesn't have to be ASPH - specially since I'm expecting to cough up big bucks for a Mac Pro soon (and bathroom renovations as well) :D

I thought about the Nokton 50.. just didn't "feel" the same in my hands.. but then again.. I have the Nokton 35 that I love..

I grabbed the one from KEH last night. Bargain condition, with a favorable price. As long as the glass is nice I don't mind some character marks on the barrel. There are a couple chrome ones on ebay (I wanted black), and I didn't investigate the ones I saw at the common retailers as I felt I could find one for a better price than what they listed. Then they jump up to the $1500 range which I just could not bring myself to do.

ya.. I see the $1599 ones.. sheesh.. I like my Leica.. but I don't know if I like it that much ;)

I'm looking for one too, preferably the last pre-asph, in E46. Rover, let's see pics, of the lens and with it.

I keep hearing about how the earlier Summiluxes don't cut it compared to today's newer versions, but I still love my Summarit and it's even older.

The nokton is excellent. I have the asph summilux 50 and feel the nokton is close in performance. Wide open it's a little softer but not that much. I hate to reference Puts but he states it's sharper than the non asph summilux. I can't say since I've never owned the non asph. I you have any interest drop a PM.

It should arrive next week. I have to credit Roland for bird dogging it for me.

Dave - I have one, a chrome lens s/n 1644XXX, which makes it an early Summilux. I have enjoyed it a lot, but now a) have the 1.4 Asph and b) am raising scratch for an M8. E-mail me off list if interested. benmarks2003 at yah00 dot com.
