ehm, 2" are 5,08 cm, and the active area of a 4x5 film is a bit less than 4x5", but I do agree that it is one possibility how do do panoramas with 4x5. On top of that one may use the vertical displacement to his advantage as a 2" rise or fall movement. But this procedure does involve some care as not to end up with two panoramas on one side of the film.

And yes about the shooting two on the same side....caution and a good memory are encouraged.

This Just Arrived from Freestyle.

150 sheets of 6x9cm Efke 100, and 150 sheets of 6x9cm Efke 25. I also have another 150 sheets of 6x9cm Efke 100 (from B&H) in the deepfreeze, as well as 50 sheets of J&C Classic 200, which I bought from J&C when they were closing up.

I'm set for a while.

I shoot 6x9cm sheets of film through this Plaubel Makiflex Standard, shown with 150mm F2.8 Schneider Xenotar (mounted on recessed Plaubel Peco Jr lensboard). Also shown is the Plaubel Makiflex 4x5 Adapter Back, which puts a 9x9cm image onto 4x5 cutfilm. For 6x9cm I use Plate Holders for the Plaubel Makina Rangefinder camera, interchangeable onto the Makiflex, or Plaubel Makina 6x6 and 6x9 Rollbacks. Like a European Graflex SLR.

Taken with Fujica GL690, Velvia 50, and 65mm f8. Stitched together 8 consecutive panning shots or so...This is the view from atop Mt. Palomar east of San Diego, CA.
 
Somehow I had the idea that the Fuji690 was some prohibitively expensive system, with a variety of expensive lenses. Seeing the work in here, and then doing a cursory examination of the facts... wow... how did this pass me by.

I have an Autocord, and as nice as it is I just don't really use it at all. Maybe it's the waist-level focusing or the square format. But in researching more rectangular and eye-level system like a Pentax 67 or a Mamiya 7, I found them either too heavy or too expensive. But this... this... Only $339 for a bargain GW690 on Keh? For a whole 6x9?

I paid $300 for a nicely working G690 w/100mm lens, and about a month later came across (eBay) an f8 65mm for the interchangeable 690 for $325. Later picked up a decent G690bl body for $275.

Deals pop up regularly on these and the traffic in eBay is fairly steady... particularly for the GW and GSW fixed lens models.
