And Again... Score and Score... body and lens Fuji
Somehow I had the idea that the Fuji690 was some prohibitively expensive system, with a variety of expensive lenses. Seeing the work in here, and then doing a cursory examination of the facts... wow... how did this pass me by.
I have an Autocord, and as nice as it is I just don't really use it at all. Maybe it's the waist-level focusing or the square format. But in researching more rectangular and eye-level system like a Pentax 67 or a Mamiya 7, I found them either too heavy or too expensive. But this... this... Only $339 for a bargain GW690 on Keh? For a whole 6x9?
This last weekend, I successfully bid on a GL690 (Last interchangeable lens body) and an AE100 lens (meter needs fixing)...
Body in good user condition. Lens cosmetically and optically nice and will send to Frank Marshman, as I know he is experienced with these Fuji Auto Exposure lenses, in hopes he can revive the meter.
$187 for the Body, $67 for the lens.
Pictured here are the body, new lens, and the f8 65 I recently bought (also on eBay for $325) in excellent condition.
I also have a very nice G690 with a 65mm finder, so can carry a body with each lens. However, the dark slides work on both bodies, so I can do midroll lens changes. I bought the G690 with the older silver 100mm 3.5 lens for $300.
Will post the outcome of the salvage effort on the AE100, since the shutter does not work if the meter is not working. Otherwise it's a parts lens for the optics, or perhaps Frank knows how to pull the meter and make the shutter functional.
This is just an example of pricing if one keeps an eye out for the older interchangeable lens Fuji's.
