70mm Film FUN up ahead

If you have a Graflex RH50 that will definately pull unperfed film through it. Has soft rubber rollers instead of cogs. Will work with perfed too

The Graflex back was modified with a NPC Polaroid mount for the RB67. I didn't know what I bought until I read about folks using Graflex backs on the RB67. I bought the back for the cassette inside and maybe shooting 70mm in a Graflex camera. I didn't even pay attention to the mount. A little research and I finally realized it was a modified job and the mount was from a NPC Polaroid back. Aside from the leatherette peeling off it's in great shape and like you said it can pull unperforated ( and perforated ) film through it. I'll finish the roll tomorrow and see how well the modification worked.

I think what I might start doing is fill a cassette with film and use the counter to count off 12 shots at a time.

Anyone pick up the two new style black Linhof Cine backs from ebay a week or two ago? twas a good price. sorry I missed it, but then I have a solid cine already.

I have been thinking to get a roll of sleeving. but 1000 feet is more than I will probably need. If someone wants half maybe we could work out a group buy.

My local shop will also sleeve the film in two 120mm fold over sleeves when they process for me.

For now I will cut and store individual frames in little individual 6x9 sleeves. works well for my Beautiful ektechrome slides, not so well for my BW negs.

mymy, those spools went fairly quick over on ebay/apug. I wish my old stock had sold as well, but then my old stock is from 1970's,80's,90's and not the recent 2000's =)
 
I bought some Konica film from the guy over on Photrio. Took it out twice. Once in the Mamiya 70mm back and interestedly the film advanced fine and the counter kept working, but I needed to adjust exposure so I did it the second time around. Next time around I used the Graflex RH50 back that was modified to be used on a Mamiya RB67. The film is expired and has a strong color cast that can be kinda fixed in PS.





After auto color correction in PS.



I like to shoot color film but I'm not sure about the color cast.

Also looking good. If I had an RB67 I would want a modified Graflex RH50, like you have. The film cost savings is indisputable............
 
Do any of you guys have any info about the Jobo 3010 tank? It says that the capacity is 1-10 of 9x12/4x5" and minimum 210 ml. If the diameter is the same as the other 3000 tanks then it should be fine, I do not need to do more than one roll of 70mm at a time.

I can eek out a few more frames if I set up the back in a changing bag. As it is, I'm loosing maybe 6 frames setting everything up in daylight. Anyway, I need to find another pair of cassettes that don't cost too much. I saw the pair for $70--too much for me now.

Please forget this question, I just purchased a Jobo 3013 from Germany for 150 Euros. :)
 
Another success with the RH50 back. Found some expired film that didn't have a horrible color cast. Loaded everything in a changing bag this time around to hopefully save a few frames. Having fun!

The mount is from a NPC Polaroid back. I didn't do the modification. I'd look at the RH50 back and a NPC Polaroid back and see what was done.

"DESCRIPTION: - See photos. Not sure what this mounts to. clean. Has film cassette. . I have no way to test this with 70mm film. Complete with darkslide"

That is a Nikor that will take up to hundred feet of 70mm film.

I have three of these units myself (presently in storage). Mine have a large bolt/handle that screws the tank cover to the reel.

I've been under the weather recently, so not a lot new. Spring is coming and I am in the final stages of getting this all together. I just bought another Beatty Coleman 70mm Transet Film Back (for $35!). This one will also fit any Graflock camera, and I think I am going to gravitate to using these units on my Makiflexes, rather than Graflex RH50 or Linhof 70mm Graflock.

1. Unlike the Linhof and Graflex, the Beatty is a unique 70mm format. The film gate is 64mmx91mm by actual
measurement. Perfect for the Makiflexes. I'm not a huge fan of the 6x7 format, I prefer 6x9cm or even something a bit longer. This is it!

2. The Beatty Coleman does not use 70mm cartridges. Each back was shipped with four specially created film spools that you pre-load in the dark. The advantage is never any scratches.

3. The Beatty Coleman Transet will run unperforated or type II perforated 70mm film. That alone is a huge advantage. I have fresh Efke 100 70mm unperforated already loaded in one back. I have a fresh roll of unperforated Tri-X I bought new from B&H, ready to go into the other (new) back.
