85 sonnar tested!!!

Raid:

my point exactly. KEH has an EX Canon 100/2 for US 546 and a BGN one for the price you quoted. They also have an EX 90/2 (48) Summicron for .... US 546.

Roland.

Good god, what an embarassing article. He should yank the whole thing, fix his typos, and re-do all of the photography so that it actually lends him some credibility.

I used to take some of what he says into consideration, after all, he knows a good deal about optics. But these pictures!

...

I've got news for Mr. Puts: he's got some new competition now, namely me. Yes, that's right, as of right now I'm getting into the lens testing business! I've done my own reslution testing of the 85 Sonnar, and have found it to be the sharpest lens I've ever used -- please see the attached picture, which I feel adequatly demonstrates the sharpness delivered by decades of rsearch from the very company who invented the MTF, as well as my own prodigious technique with teh Camera.

Being a camera equipment reviewer is a tough gig - they seem to get smacked around a lot, but Lord, they do seem to set themselves up for it.

I think, (I hope), I'm rational, but I find myself getting seriously annoyed whenever I read a review from Puts, Shutterbug, etc. Somewhere Puts has a review of the Hexar RF that is just laugh out loud funny.

I am certainly not a reviewer. I just try tos how what my lenses show and keep from making any reviews.

That guy needs to read up on his portrait lighting techniques... eek!!!

Raid; at least you had the same subject same pose and a image that was in focus for your review

geez I thought he was going to add the Nikkor 85mm 1.4D just for good measure or perhaps the 85mm 1.8? Hell lets compare the Sigma 70-200 HSM at 85mm next to the sonnar... see if thats relavent
