I'm still using Ciesta brand leather/nylon straps I bought from a marketplace vendor on Amazon. They're no longer easy to find but I like them better than anything I've used. Thin ones for the lightweight Fujis, wider ones for the Nikons. Real smooth leather with real suede leather backing for around 40 bucks.
Although there's nothing really new, I still prefer quality smooth leather. Like Erik Van S, I really like the older Leica leather black straps that were reputed to have been made from the skin of unborn calves. I've re-purposed several, one here on a black paint iii. I also used one and brass rivetted a strap for a CL. My other favourite for M Leicas are the finely made water buffalo straps by Harry Benz.
I had Justin over at Tap & Dye make me some black horween leather straps maybe 4-5 years ago and they’re still my absolute favorites. Simple, sturdy, quick to wrap around my wrist and exactly what I wanted.
