Does the A&A silk strap have lug protectors to stop it scratching the camera body? If not has anyone noticed this happening? The Black Label silk strap says that it has protectors does anyone have experience with both and can perhaps comment on relative quality?

I've seen both the A&A and the Black Label, but haven't used either. I have and use The Street Strap (which is soft nylon cord, not silk) but the same design ends ... It hasn't scratched anything in ten months of using it on both the M9 and X2.

i use the lance straps...no marking so far...and having finally handled an a&a strap, they are no softer or pliable than the lance....

I use the neckpad strap with the leather protector and it totally protects the camera.

The silk cord doesn't look like it has that, so I would be more inclined to get an ACAM cloth strap and be safe...

There's enough padding at the ends, on both brands, that it actually pushes the split ring away from the camera. Only things touching are the leather (on the A&A) and cord (Lance). If youre worried about anything making contact at all, the easiest thing to do would be to buy a couple of tiny O-Rings from your local hardware store and place them around your lugs before attaching the strap.

I have 3 A&A silk straps on my M6TTL, MP, and M9 and they have not caused any marks/scratches on the cameras.

When I use one of the cameras, I carry it in one hand when walking with the silk strap around my wrist. It is a great strap that is comfortable and wears well.

Good luck with your decision.

I've used (and still use) the A&A silk cord strap on my cameras, and have never experienced any damage from them.

As mentioned earlier, the ends are wrapped in thick leather which keeps the split ring away from the camera.

I've got a Lance strap on my CL, and two Street Straps (one on X2 and one on M9). The Street Strap is much softer and more pliable than the Lance strap. I think the silk material in the A&A and Black Label straps will break in pretty quickly compared to the Lance strap, and ultimately be both stronger and more pliable.

They're all good options, however. The Lance straps are nice as you can get them in a variety of lengths, end types, and colors. Mine is long and red. ;-)

But the Street Strap so far is my fave.

not sure just how soft a strap needs to be...if the lance was any softer it would be comatose!
the a&a strap i handled was broken in...it was nice and soft but no softer than my lance.

My A&A, Black Label, and Lance straps all rub my X-Pro1.

Maybe try the cloth strap? I used to use a leather one but it also scratched. The A&A cloth strap has leather "ears" that fully cover the body, and I prefer its softness that allows me to pack the camera into small bags.

I should have mentioned that I don't care if my camera gets scratched, I'd rather have the strap that is most comfortable. These are very comfortable for me. I like O rings too...
