Here are a few recent shots from European trips (Netherlands, France, Belgium), all taken with Leica screwmount and period lenses. Found the two crucifix scenes at two completely different flea markets....hmmm, don't know what that means. Third shot's in front of Strasbourg Cathedral. This is all I've had time to scan from the negs...

Camera/lens used?
ok let me guess the lens: Planar ZM 50/2 , Biogon ZM 35/2 ... close or not at all?

The Bull shot is impressive, but I prefer the couple (Strasbourg cathedral, right?)

Very nice shots. Is this the French "bullfighting" event, where bulls live to fight another day?

The bull fight is a 'Royale', where a bunch of guys in white try to loop a 'ficelle' around the bull's horn. They start with a little bull and it's pretty easy for them to do it. However, the bulls get progressively bigger until you have this racehorse of a bull (which was this guy!). Leica IIIa w/MOOLY, 90 f/4 Elmar -- the guy's head is at the very edge of the neg. I just pre-focused to a certain area of the arena, knowing that I only had a 90 lens, and followed the action and went 'whammo'. I didn't even realize what I got until after I got home (of course, I'm not going to show you the other 50 that were crap!) I'm slowly scanning things from the Euro jaunts, and will put some more up as time allows. Thanks for looking!

With an Elmar 90? Obviously I could not be more wrong ... ok, later, I'm gonna dig a hole and hide me ...

Three more Euro shots...I'm getting there! One is a quick grab shot at the Eiffel Tower, the other is the Mauritzhaus in Den Haag, and a third is a wedding party I happened upon in Paris. You guys have way more interesting stuff over there!
First two with a 35mm Summaron (love that lens!), and the third with a 50mm collapsible Summicron.

Last installment for now. All three shots from Dordrecht (near Rotterdam), my favourite town. Church shot and bride/groom taken with a 90mm Fat Elmar, and the cat is with the 73mm Hektor (sorry about that falling out of focus on the upper part of the shot).
I must say that shooting in Europe (as a wandering tourist, anyway) almost compels one to use a vintage camera....digital just wouldn't cut it!
Thanks for looking at these shots, and I hope that they all 'hang' together okay....

Vince, I meant to comment on your pictures but I forgot and I didn't realize that you added some more.
You have the "eye" for spotting the unusual and your framing is very good. My favorites are the bull shot, the painting of the lady looking at the window, the man with cigarette, and the children in the rain across the carousel.
These images are amazing and demonstrated your ability to tell a story using photos.
Thanks for sharing.

Many thanks for the kind words -- I just keep on sluggin' away and sooner or later hopefully a decent shot pops up!
If I track down any more approriate shots, I'll post them.
Thanks Again!

I like the painting of the lady and the coffee with milk photos the most.

I like the composition and gesture of the lady but it lacks real black and white, there is "grey almost black" and "grey almost white" but not true ones and I don't really see where you focused, it seems to me between the lady's face and guy's face but not On the face. Did you scanned it on your own? I f so I think you can have a much better tonality and true white ad blacks by choosing the whole histogram with the scanner's software

You might be right on that point -- scanning hasn't always been my strongest ability! I guess if I had one wish about this shot it was that the plastic bag wasn't sitting on the table. But I wasn't about to say "Excuse me, could you please move the bag and pour the tea again?"
Thanks for the recommendation.....
